Skydo — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 18 October 2026
Skydo is a parental-control app that helps parents block apps and filter adult web content on their child's iPhone or iPad using Apple's Screen Time technology, manage those rules from their own phone, and — if they choose — see where their child's phone is.
The short version
Skydo has no user accounts and no advertising, and we do not sell your data. The optional features that connect two phones go through Apple's iCloud, and the child's location is end-to-end encrypted so that only the two linked phones can read it — not us, and not Apple.
Stored only on the device
Blocked apps and websites, your parent PIN, schedules, usage summaries and all other settings are stored only on the device where you set them.
Screen Time (Family Controls)
Skydo uses Apple's Family Controls and Managed Settings frameworks. Restrictions are enforced by iOS itself. The apps you select are represented by opaque tokens that we cannot read, and they never leave the device.
Parent's phone (remote control)
If you link a parent's phone with a pairing code, the two phones exchange the rules (bedtime, time limits, school hours, pauses) and a status summary (when the child's phone was last seen, whether protection is on, how many apps are blocked and how many attempts were blocked today) through Apple's CloudKit public database. These records are identified only by the random pairing code, not by name, Apple ID, phone number or email. Unlinking deletes them.
Location sharing
Location sharing is off by default. It only starts when someone with the child's phone turns on Share location with parent in Skydo and allows location access in iOS; iOS shows the location indicator while it is in use, and it can be turned off at any time in Skydo or in iOS Settings.
When it is on, the child's phone sends its position, its accuracy, the time, the battery level, and arrivals at or departures from places the parent has set (such as "School"). The parent's places are sent the other way. All of this is encrypted on the phone before it is uploaded, with a key that only the two linked phones hold (created with an elliptic-curve key exchange; the private keys never leave the phones). It is stored in Apple's CloudKit only so the other phone can download it: the latest position is replaced each time, and arrival/departure records are deleted after seven days. Turning sharing off removes the position; unlinking deletes everything along with the keys. We cannot read any of it.
Arrival and departure alerts are delivered as notifications through Apple's push service and decrypted on the parent's phone.
Subscriptions
Skydo Premium is purchased through Apple's App Store. Apple processes payments; we never receive your name or payment-card details. We use RevenueCat to validate purchases, restore access and understand subscription performance. RevenueCat processes a randomly generated app-user identifier, purchase and transaction history, subscription status, product and price information, and paywall-view events. We do not attach your name, email address, Apple ID, parental-control rules, screen-time details or location to this identifier. Apple's subscription notifications are also processed by Skydo's subscription tracker. This information is used for app functionality and subscription analytics, not for advertising. A subscription bought on the parent's phone also unlocks the linked child's phone; for this the parent's phone records only "subscription active until [date]" on the pairing record. See RevenueCat's privacy policy and Apple's privacy policy.
Children's privacy
Skydo is set up and controlled by a parent or guardian. Location sharing is designed to be visible to the child and is only used to show the child's whereabouts to the parent who linked the phone. The data is not used for advertising, profiling or any other purpose, and it is not accessible to us.
Your choices
You can turn location sharing off, unlink the phones, or delete the app at any time; each removes the related data as described above. For anything else, contact us.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new date.
